ONE MORE SWEET SORBET designer paper

This card is a little brighter than I prefer, but it was a way to use up another piece of that designer paper.  I definitely think it will "brighten up" someone's day.

I can't believe the Month of May is now gone.  Come back to see what I do in June!

SUPER SIMPLE CAS CARD

With a beautiful piece of designer paper like this you really don't need to do much to finish it.  I cut a piece of the dp to 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" and added it to the card base.  I matted the sentiment from the SU "Sincere Salutations" stamp set.  Finishing touch is the lined envelope.

STAMPIN' UP! Sweet Sorbet dp

This card started with a scrap of the designer paper.  I matted the piece with Calypso Coral card stock.  I wasn't sure where to go from there but decided to try randomly stamping one of the flowers from the SU Flower Shop stamp set on the card base with Daffodil Delight ink.  I liked it after the matted dp was added.  The sentiment is from SU Birthday Blooms stamp set.  I also had enough of the dp to line the envelope.

SU DELIGHTFUL DAISY Designer Paper

This sheet is so different from the other ones in the pack.  I actually wasn't fond of it when I first saw it.  However, once I saw a card like this on Pinterest, I decided I really like it!

I punched two of the daisies from white card stock and then sponged the center areas with a mix of Daffodil Delight and Calypso Coral ink.  The two pieces were put together with a glue dot and then I stamped the center of the daisy.

3 GRADUATION CARDS

Some of our friends have a daughter who graduated from college recently.  She has worked long and hard for her degree and we wanted to send her a card to acknowledge her perseverance.

Below are the cards I made for local high school graduates.

For the boys

For the girls

The piece with the 2018 on it appears to extend beyond the side of the card, but it really doesn't.  I couldn't get a good picture of it that looked right.

Since this is Memorial Day Weekend, I hope everyone is traveling safe and enjoying their time.

SIMPLE DAISY DELIGHT

Using the dp from the Delightful Daisy dp pack, Night of Navy card stock and Daffodil Delight card stock the card went together very quickly.  The flower was created with the Daisy Delight stamp set and coordinating punch.  Sentiment is from a Stampendous set.

I am scheduling this card in advance and as I look at it, I may just use it for a neighbor girl who is graduating from high school.  The school colors are blue and gold.

Thank you for coming by today!  Have a great weekend!

CASING PINTEREST POSTS

As I mentioned earlier, right now I really am trying hard to use up a lot of my designer papers.  So that I don't have to take a lot of time thinking and planning a card, Pinterest makes it so easy to virtually copy (CASE) or at least get me started.  This one is from Stampin' Up!  I went to Pinterest and searched for cards made with "Painted Blossoms" designer papers.  I loved this one.  I think the only difference in mine is the butterfly that I used.

CASING A SIMPLE CARD

This really is a CAS (Clean and Simple) card but I really do like it.  The papers are from Stampin' Up! and the butterfly is from the Watercolor Wings stamp set.  Once again the lined envelope is a nice way to complete the card.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BALLOONS

This is the final (for now) birthday card I am putting aside for my mother to use for her great grandchildren.  The designer paper is from an SU paper pack "A Cherry On Top".  I'm really trying hard to use up some of the papers I have and I've been lining a lot of envelopes!  It just really adds so much to the presentation when the person receives the card.

USING STAMPIN' UP! Designer Papers

I made one very similar to this in the past but this time I added a lined envelope.

Thank you for coming by!  It's Friday so I hope you'll come back again next week!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, EVAN!

My mother sent this to one of her great grandsons.  I wasn't sure how old he was going to be but I would have loved to put that number in the middle of the die cut balloon.  The papers are from Stampin' Up!.  The balloon is from Penny Black but the cord is from another company.

STAMPIN' UP! - Sprinkles of Life

My mother who is 95 still likes to send birthday cards to her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.  I spent some time making some "fun" birthday cards for the great grandchildren.  Who doesn't love ice cream and kids love ice cream cones.  I used the SU Sprinkles of Life stamp set to assemble the design and added it to an oval cut with a Spellbinders die.  A piece of SU designer paper was added to the white card base and then the matted design was added finishing it off.

I'll put this one aside as well as some others I have made so that when Mother needs one I'll be ready for her.  Thanks for coming by today!

CASING ANN SCHACH

Ann is a Stampin' Up! demonstrator.  On April 11 I saw a card on her blog (The Stampin' Schach) that I wanted to CASE.  She used a bigger butterfly and had a sentiment on the front making her card more detailed.  This picture doesn't really do it justice.

The stamps are from the Stampin' Up! Butterfly Basics stamp set.  The butterfly is one of my many Memory Box dies.

FANCY GATE FOLD #3

This example is different on the front. The second side of the double sided dp shows a triangle design.  When cutting the angles of the front, you end up with two scrap pieces of the designer paper.  You get a different design depending on which side you add them back to the lower edge of the card.  It becomes clear if you watch a video on YouTube.

Sunday is Mother's Day!  I hope all of you who are mothers or fulfill that same love for someone else are celebrated Sunday and enjoy a special day!

A FUN GATE FOLD CARD #1

Recently I have been trying some new fun folds to get myself away from always just using a  side fold.  Once again I used some paper that wasn't my absolute favorite to make the first one.  You can find examples of this fold on YouTube.  I think I searched for "fancy fold cards" and found several styles.

The band around the middle is called a "belly band".  It goes completely around the card and simply slides off.  I haven't completed this card yet but will add a sentiment inside eventually.

ONE MORE MEMORY BOX BUTTERFLY

This time I cut the outline with gold foil card stock and the solid piece using a really neat piece of Oragami paper.

MEMORY BOX - Maribelle Butterfly & Selena Butterfly

The Maribelle Butterfly cuts the black outline and the Selena Butterfly cuts a solid piece that can be used under it.

I cut the outline with black card stock and the solid pieces with double sided adhesive.  On the one I removed the wrong side of the adhesive to the solid piece and so had to add the outline with the "right side" down.  The cut side isn't quite as nice that way but it is pretty good.

The three different colors of glitter were added carefully one at a time and then mounted on a mat of white card stock which had been embossed with the Dotted Swiss folder.  One card base is blue and the other is black.  White insets were added inside for the sentiment which will added later.  The finishing touches were the little black nailheads.

TWO CARDS USING STAMPIN' UP! Heartfelt Blossoms

This is such an easy stamp to use.  It can be done in so many different colors and the shading is all done for you.  I did add a little yellow in the center of the first card.

Even stamped in green it is very pretty!

STAMPIN' UP! - Sprinkles of Life

I really can't take credit for the idea here.  I saw one like it on Pinterest and just had to CASE it.  My sentiment is different than the one used.

VERY SIMPLE BIRTHDAY

This piece of designer paper was left over from another project quite a while ago.   I simply added it to the white card base.  The yellow border was cut with a die.  Then I stamped a sentiment inside and outside of the card.......probably less than 5 minutes involved in this one.

PUNCHED DAISY BLOSSOMS

HAPPY MAY DAY!

The stamped image consists of the black line frame and leaves.  There are three areas to add punched flowers.  The piece was then matted with the dark green card stock.  I have had this stamped and matted piece done for months but for some reason never added it to a card.  The envelope was lined with designer paper from Stampin' Up!

A great way to use up sheets of your designer series papers is to do One Sheet Wonder patterns.  This one was a little different because you...
